Every individual has an identity that they wanted to portray, each one of us are trying to display our brand / identity that separate us from the rest of the pack. This is one of the reason gravatar was created, to remember us with our own image / identity.
Today we will create an awesome gravatar in photoshop that we can use on gravatar, forums and other platforms that requires a avatar / gravatar. I mainly use this on design forums that I joined, and somehow members offered me some gigs that I can work with, which is cool just by showing my avatar 🙂
Things that we need
- Responsive Image
- League Gothic from Fontsquirrel
- GeosansLight from Dafont
Make sure you download the list above before we start, this is gonna be short tutorial so feel free to follow along.
Create a new file, make the width and height 100px, This is the most common avatar size on forums.
Grab the Rounded Rectangle Tool “U” and draw the shape on the canvas.
Fill the background with this color #2E3C48, and download the image that we have from the start. Resize it and copy the same position as on the image above.
Add the text on the center using League Gothic, this is our forum username.
Create a new layer, use the Rectangle Tool “M” and fill the space on the bottom with #CBB605.
Add the text below, we use GeosansLight. Font color is #C7B305, make them all caps.
